Tackling the Issue


The LUTH Library was set up in 1968 out of the need to provide succor to hospital patients and provide entertainment, by way of reading materials such as a selection of books, magazines and newspapers. We do our bit by visiting between eight to fifteen wards of Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba every Wednesday. This service, run by a group of volunteers made up of members and non-members of IWS, helps to put smiles on the faces of patients; we read to the patients, sit and listen to them, talk to them and sometimes just give them the emotional support they need to see them through another day. For more information about joining the LUTH Library Trolley Committee contact the Chairperson at
